Traditionally used in dark beers such as Porters and Stouts, this root imparts a very distinct licorice flavor and is surprisingly sweet. It contains Glycyrrhizin, a substance 50 times sweeter than sugar!
Use 15 to 30 gram per 20 liter batch, and it is added on the end of the boil.
